"I just completed my basement and decided to subcontract all of the work myself. I extensively researched various cabinet contractors and quickly learned a common trend. Most cabinet companies do not manufacture their own cabinets. Most companies will serve as the liaison, present a design and let you think that they manufactured the cabinets. In my case, the competitors not only sub-contracted the manufacturing but they also doubled the price to get their margin.
